The hot topic among MLB right now is who should win the AL MVP. There are two clear frontrunners. Former AL MVP and All Star Outfielder Aaron Judge. The other is home run hitting sensation and HR Derby winner Cal Raleigh. Today, I’m settling the debate once and for all.

Why Cal Raleigh Should Be MVP:

The 60 home runs and 7.1 WAR speak for themselves. Cal Raleigh is an All-Star, a HR Derby Champion, a Gold Glover, and a Platinum Glover. He also leads the AL in RBI’s. He also has almost 600 AB’s. Over 50 more than Judge. Raleigh singlehandedly took the Mariners into the playoffs, and he singlehandedly carried the Mariners to winning AL West. He also plays the hardest position (catcher) at an elite level. He also has 15 SB. 3 more than Aaron Judge. Raleigh has played 159 games. 7 more than Judge.

Why Aaron Judge Should Be MVP:

It’s pretty straightforward. The 2x MVP, former Rookie of the Year, 7x All-Star, HR Derby Champion, 4x Silver Slugger, and Roberto Clemente winner is not new to these MVP races. Judge had the best average (.331) in the regular season. He has the highest OBP in the AL. The highest OPS, and SLG of the AL. He also has the most walks in baseball, and the most runs in baseball. He has a way higher OPS+ than Raleigh. The only thing is that he’s not a great outfielder.

Who should win MVP? In my book, Cal Raleigh, but I’m gonna let you decide by voting in the poll below.
