100th Article Special! Everything That’s Happened and Plans Moving Forward

If you'd told me when I published my first post that I'd eventually write 100 articles, I probably wouldn't have believed you. But somehow, here we are. To celebrate 100 articles, I am recapping everything that has happened and my plans for this website moving forward. It has been a really fun year so let’s get into it.

Recapping the Last Year and a Half…
It has been just under a year and a half since I started this blog. The original plan was simple: publish one article every week. So far, I haven't missed a single week. Between breaking news, live event coverage, and everything else shaping Major League Baseball, I have now published 100 articles—including this one.

Across those 100 articles, I have mentioned a total of 484 different players, and every MLB team has been featured at least 10 times. In December, I also launched the Young Insider YouTube channel (subscribe here). Between the blog and YouTube channel, we've gained a few hundred members and subscribers.

The YouTube channel has grown steadily as well. I've published 24 videos that have accumulated more than 65,000 views. One of the biggest highlights so far was getting Aiden McIntyre, a baseball YouTuber with more than 250,000 subscribers, to reply to one of my community posts (you can view the post here).

I've also made plenty of predictions on the website over the past year and a half. Some of my favorites are predicting that Rōki Sasaki would be a bust for the Dodgers in 2025 and that JJ Wetherholt would contend for (and possibly even win?) the 2026 National League Rookie of the Year Award. Not to mention me correctly predicting a handful of picks in the MLB Draft (in 2025 and 2026).

Perhaps my favorite articles to write are about debunking mysteries like “Why Does MLB Love Shohei Ohtani?” or “Why Did Munetaka Murakami Not Get the Contract He Wanted?”

My favorite video to make for the channel has to be “The MLB All-Star Situation Is Absurd” since it addressed something I really think MLB should fix, and most viewers seemed to agree.

As the months went by in the blog, I developed a few series' like the “Get to Know” series where I explore a player who I believe is underrated/interesting, and the “Who is the Better Player?” series where I compare two players who are very similar players and decide who is better.

It’s hard to recap the last year and a half in one word, but if I had to describe it, I would say magical. It has been a magical experience and I’m grateful to everyone who reads these articles.

Going Forward…
Moving forward, I still plan to publish weekly articles to the blog, and keep making YouTube videos. I also plan to cover live events (trade deadline, winter meetings, etc).

Not much is going to change going forward, but I will work even harder to deliver quality content regularly. I want to make sure that everything I publish—whether it’s an article or a video—is something that provides value to readers and viewers.

One thing that will be changing is that I'll now be posting big trade updates and analysis on my YouTube channel. I've already covered two of the biggest trade deadline deals—check them out here and here. However, some other smaller transactions will be articles posted to my blog as well as the weekly articles.

Also, the last topic I wanted to touch on: every player mentioned in my articles is tagged, so if you want to find pieces that reference a specific player, just use the search bar in the top right of my website and search their name. Keep in mind some tags are for players who are only briefly mentioned, not necessarily the main subject of the article.

I truly appreciate every one of you who reads these articles and also those who watch my videos. I can't tell you how much support I've gotten from everyone, and it never fails to amaze me. I try to produce the highest quality content I can, and you guys show up without fail to support it. Every read, every watch, every like, and every share is what allows me to keep Young Insider an independently owned website and YouTube channel, and to keep giving you my honest take on all the latest topics circling in the baseball world.
