According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the Cubs and center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong are finalizing a long term extension.
BREAKING: Center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and the Chicago Cubs are finalizing a long-term contract extension, sources tell ESPN. Crow-Armstrong, coming off a 30-30 season and a Gold Glove, will get a big payday as the Cubs lock up a franchise-caliber talent.

Center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong and the Chicago Cubs are in agreement on a six-year, $115 million contract extension, sources tell ESPN. The deal starts in 2027 and does not include a club option, allowing Crow-Armstrong to hit free agency before his age-31 season.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today later confirms this while also noting that the deal has no opt-outs, but it does have escalators/incentives.

It buys out two free agent years, but there are no opt outs.

Thoughts:
I like the contract for the Cubs as I think PCA could very well be star in the making, and locking him up for a few more years after his free agency could prove to be a very smart financial move. As for PCA, he gets a nice salary bump and a guaranteed contract if anything bad happens. Seems like a win-win to me.
