My Thoughts, and What Can the Giants (and Giants fans) Can Expect From Tony Vitello:
That is an IMPRESSIVE resume from Vitello. I remember when I was watching the MLB Draft (I covered the 1st round), Tony Vitello was there, and he was the ONLY person giving actually helpful analysis on the players that were being drafted.

He is the first person to go from a head coach in college to a manager in MLB. I think Giants fans can expect Tony to adjust quickly. He has all offseason to get to know the players, familiarize himself with the organization, etc. You can also probably expect better managing decisions. And not to offend anyone, but Bob Melvin was getting up there in age, so this is kind of a necessary managerial change. If this next season (aka the 2026 season) doesn’t go well, then we need to look at the upper management (Buster Posey/Zack Minasian). One more very important thing that you can expect from Vitello is player development. As a college coach, you need to know how to develop players who come to the team. I’ll think he’ll bring that to San Francisco, and very help young players along.
